She loved any interaction with students, from greeting them every morning, to handing out lunch passes. She was known for her ability to calm an upset student with a bottle of water, a cup of apple sauce or package of peanut butter crackers and a compassionate yet realistic ear. Jackie was known by many of the staff, current and former students as Mama Moates. Jackie truly loved her job and many would say bled Green and Gold.
