Arthur Joseph Crelan Jr

Art Crelan passed away Sunday, July 26,2026 after a brief illness in Key Largo, Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 52 years, Janice Crelan.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Art spent many years in Rhode Island as a mobile surf fisherman, specializing in Striped Bass. He was a board member of the Rhode Island Mobile SportsFisherman and eventually became a resident of Misquamicut Beach. He spent many hours driving his 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer on the beach always fishing.  A 50 lb. striped bass off the breachway was his largest catch.  After retirement Art & Jan moved to Key Largo where he enjoyed fishing the reefs & deep water.

Art is predeceased by his mother, Josephine and his father Arthur. He is survived by brothers -Frank & Jon, sisters -Brenda & Frances as well as several nieces and nephews. He enjoyed time spent at the beach with his Godson, Ben and his Goddaughter Alexa.
