On February 11, 2026, God gained an angel, Faith Rosetti Nielsen of Islamorada, Florida, passed away at the age of 99. She was a loving mother. grandmother and a special friend to all that knew her. Faith was a strong, exceptional, beautiful woman, full of love and creative expression. She is cherished deeply and will be greatly missed, now reunited with Edwin, her husband in the heavens above. May she rest in peace with God.
Born December 9, 1926, in New York New York, her parents were Pierina Angela Maria Benanchietti and Giuseppe Rosetti. Faith loved New York City, "The Big Apple," and was proud of her upbringing as part of an immigrant Italian family that persevered through the Depression and into modern times. Faith worked closely with her father at Rosetti’s, his restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen on 46th Street in Manhattan. She understood the importance of education and was committed to her studies, attending fashion courses during her school years as well as working at the restaurant. Her passion and dedication led her to become a fashion designer for the Charles Mitchel House of Design in Manhattan.
In May 1948, Faith married Edwin Nielsen, and together they built a steadfast and loving life. They settled in Oceanside, New York, in the 50’s where their bond remained strong and unshakable having one daughter, Christine. She traveled to Hong Kong, Portugal the Caribbean and the Florida Keys always embracing new experiences. She served as president of The German Shepherd Dog Club of Long Island, where she enjoyed the success of having accomplished show dogs. In her later years, Faith continued to pursue her love of learning by attending SUNY College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in theological studies.
In 1985, Faith relocated to Islamorada so she could be near her daughter, son-in-law, and, above all, spend time with her beloved grandchildren. Faith contributed her skills through her work with Century 21 Real Estate and St. James the Episcopal Church.
Faith leaves behind her beloved family: her daughter, Christine Cara Nielsen Barron; her son-in-law, Christopher Barron; her grandson, Hunter Nielsen Barron; her granddaughter, Alexandra Constance Barron; her God Child; Suzanne Becker Nadwodny and her sister, Diana Sanford.
Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Islamorada on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by a celebratory gathering.
