Gordon Oliveros Iii

March 27, 1925 — September 22, 2015

Gordon G. Oliveros III, 90, of Key Largo, FL, passed away in his home on September 22, 2015. He was born in Key West, FL on March 27, 1925. His family were direct descendants from Spain and settled in St. Augustine, FL in the 1700s.  He served as a seaman in the Coast Guard during WWII.  He retired from Southern Bell in 1965 after 20 plus years of service when he moved to Key Largo.  His passion was finding coins and treasures while metal detecting with his brother Joe.  His talent for fixing lawnmowers, appliances and bicycles gained him respect from neighbors who quickly became close friends.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary; sister, Mary; mother Nathalie and father Gordon.

He is survived by his brother Joseph; half-brother, Charlie; niece Denise and Don Webb and family; as well as "friends like family": Pat and Bob Sandmyer; Tom and Bonnie Hutton; Ricky and Vicky Slye.
Know as Gordon, Grainger or Gordy, he will be truly missed by all who knew him and will remain in all of our hearts. In lieu of flowers it is suggested to make donations to Vitas Healthcare (hospice) or Wounded Warriors. Visitation Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Allen-Beyer Funeral Home, 101640 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL.
