Obituary

Mary Ann Don of Marathon, Florida passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. She was born January 31, 1931 in Harbor Beach, Michigan. Her parents were Eva Ann (Carrigan) Staubs and Charles Staubs. She was raised on family farms in Fairgrove, Michigan. Went to Fairgrove elementary school and then on to graduate from Marywood Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She married, raised four children in Caro, Michigan for some time then they moved to Saginaw, Michigan. She later moved to New Jersey residing in Lanoka Harbor for 14 years. Her final destination was Marathon, Florida in 1984 where she spent her last years enjoying the weather and became a true Keys Girl. She was a devoted Catholic who dedicated much of her life to the church. She worked at San Pablo parish in Marathon for a time before going to San Pedro parish in Tavernier becoming music director, teaching the children’s choir and coordinating many collections of items for the needy of other countries. Her main focus late in life was the needy. Surviving are son Douglas (Sandra) Don of Akron, Michigan, daughter Elizabeth Don-Trainor, of Bricktown, New Jersey, and son Thomas ((Grace) Don of Clio, Michigan. Nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by two sons Michael and infant Peter. And two sons in law, Robert Trainor and John Andryszewski.
