Obituary

Paul Hardy, 62, passed away on September 8, 2026, just four days before his 63rd birthday. He was born September 12, 1963, in Bloomfield, Iowa, and raised in Drakesville, Iowa. Paul was a loving husband to his wife, Tammy Hardy, and a proud father to his sons, Josh and Kenny Hardy. He was also a father-in-law to Bailee Hardy and a very proud grandpa to Finley, Harper, and Hudson. Paul is also survived by his mother, Anne Barnes, and his brother, Bill Hardy. Paul was a big guy with an even bigger heart. Beneath his tough exterior was someone who cared deeply for the people and animals he loved. His two dogs, Roxy and Zoey, held an especially big place in his heart and were rarely far from his side. Over the years, Paul enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. When his boys were young, some of their memories together included riding four-wheelers and simply enjoying time together outdoors. More than anything, Paul will be remembered in the stories and memories his family carries with them—the years shared with Tammy, watching his boys grow up and have families of their own, becoming Grandpa, and the everyday moments spent with the people he loved. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and a lifetime of memories that will continue to be shared for years to come. He will be deeply missed.

There will be two celebrations of life to be held in Paul’s honor. One will take place in Drakesville, Iowa, in the spring of 2027, with the date to be determined. A second celebration will be held in the Naples/Bonita Springs, Florida, area in the coming weeks. Details and dates for both celebrations will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
