Richard Hanson

Richard A. Hanson, 73 passed away on April 3, 2020 at Homestead Hospital from a short illness. He was born on September 20, 1946 in Trenton, NJ to parents Joan and Andrew Hanson.  Richard was a long time resident of Islamorada and was a Master Marine Mechanic, surveyor and owner of Hansons Diesel &Yacht Service since 1974. He served 4 years with the US Coast Guard and was a Monroe County Reserve Deputy, as well as a life long member of the NRA and the FL Keys Shooting Club. He married his wife Donna (Bell) in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Donna, children; Lisa Merritt (David Galen) and Rob Merritt (Stacey) grandchildren:  Gray Ransom, Justin Hulick; Aidan, Delaney & Logan Merritt, and great granddaughter Mackenzie Hulick. Sister in law Janice Binkowski (John) of West Virginia. Niece; Laura Binkowski, Nephew Johnny Binkowski .
