Richard Kulkaski, 70, of Islamorada, Florida passed away on February 19th, 2024 at South Miami Hospital. Richard was born November 10th, 1953, and grew up in Warren, New Jersey with his parents, Stanley Kulkaski and Theresa Kulkaski, and five siblings, Bernie Kulkaski, Patricia Kulkaski Walker, David Kulkaski, Susan McGill and Christina Steele.
Born with an entrepreneurial mindset, Richard went on to graduate from South Carolina University, work for the family business then ventured off onto his own. After gaining years of sales experience it was time to take that leap of faith and start his own company. Richard was known for his numerous patents, knowledge in the semiconducting industry, and the drive to always push for the better.
One day back in the early 80s on a Hobie Beach in NJ, Richard met the love of his life, Sharon Kulkaski. They were inseparable ever since. Richard and Sharon married in late September 1983 ready to start the next chapter of their love story. They created a beautiful family, a beautiful life and truly were living their dream. Settling down in Forked River, NJ, they were known for throwing some memorable fishing tournament parties, Super Bowl parties and simply enjoying moments on their back deck chatting with the neighbors, this is where they enjoyed the past 35+ years of their life together.
They are survived by a daughter, Kiriane Kulkaski Johnson with husband, Galon Johnson, and two granddaughters, Harper and Maddie.
Richard always had a love for boating, fishing and simply being out on the ocean. He found his way down to Islamorada, FL to be closer to his granddaughters who were the light of his life. He truly found a new purpose being their “Pop Pop”.
We always knew a piece of him was missing when his wife passed in 2021, he was incomplete. They now can continue their love story together in heaven while watching over all of us.
There will be a memorial service planned for a later date. For details please reach out to Kiriane Johnson at kiriane.johnson@gmail.com
